Our speakers:

David Sutton
David has extensive risk management experience across a broad range of organisations and sectors and has been involved in risk management for over 20 years.   A key passion for David is linking strategy with risk and ensuring that risk management is balanced between value protection and pursuing opportunities. He is also a key facilitator for the Institute of Directors and has written the course materials for the Audit & Risk Committee Essentials and Risk Essentials Courses.

Kate Smith
Kate Smith currently holds the position of Risk Manager at Sky City Entertainment Group, bringing with her a substantial background in the realm of Technology.  Her professional portfolio includes collaborative endeavours with subject matter experts, curating intricate disaster scenarios.  Her specialised focus is in the domain of cyber attacks.

Tanvi Mohite
Tanvi leads the enterprise risk service in Auckland, supporting David Sutton (Partner) . She provides SME support to organisations in multiple sectors with uplifting their risk management practices. Tanvi has a vast and rich risk management experience having worked for big corporates and banks in NZ and overseas, and completed complex risk engagements and secondments in NZ. She has strong understanding and experience in implementing fit for purpose risk governance practices, articulating the board’s risk appetite, development of appropriate risk management framework and strategy, and risk and controls cadence and challenges.

Praveena Karunaharan
Praveena Karu is a seasoned GRC executive and Board member with a passion for social impact and sustainability. She has recently relocated to New Zealand from Sydney, where she was the Chief Risk and Governance Officer at Snowy Hydro – Australia’s largest renewable energy company and a key player in the country’s transition to net zero.  She is an ESG advocate and a Non-Executive Director of several not for profits in the education and social sectors.
